SMC-VE - Question

The traffic from the clients should on the server side go through a Steelhead appliance. The traffic to a SMC could be optimized, it is not a pre-requisite.

Re: SMC-VE - Question

So all of the traffic that the SMC does has to go to the physical SH first before going to their destination?

SMC-VE - Question

The SMC is only used for the distribution of licenses, configuration and statistics. It is not used in the optimization of various TCP sessions.

SMC-VE - Question

Hi,

I was wondering about how SMC-VE works exactly.  If a Mobile Client is in CA and the physical SH (and SMC-VE) box is in FL, how does the traffic work when using the default accerelation/endpoint policies?  Will all of the client traffic go to the physical SH first and then go to their destination (making the traffic trip much larger) or will only the traffic whose destination is behind the physical SH go there and all other traffic will just go as normal?

For example, if client opens up Yahoo on his/her browser, will that traffic have to go through the physical SH first thus making the round trip much longer?

Thank you.
