The SMC does not listen on port 7810, the server-side Steelhead, however, does.

Hi ,
Some step :
1. from the Notebook with steelhead client (sh client) try to telnet port 7810 of the SMC. ( after did VPN )
If can not, check the Firewall client of Notebook and SMC deployment
If can, to step 2
2. Create Inpath rule with :
type : auto
source : all
dest : <<LAN-NETWORK>>
port : all
Preopt Policy : none
OPt policy : normal
neural : always
wan visibility : CA
Position : 1st
3. restart the service
could you try this first and see the result ?
Thanks,

Hi there.
I had a similar trouble.
In my case, a rule had to be set up in the Steelhead Mobile Controller, pointing anyone, to my lan subnet, and the target was the controller ip @ port 7800
ie. source : 0.0.0.0/0
destination : 1.2.3.0 /24 (the subnet has been changed to protect the innocent <grin>)
Port : All
Target : 1.2.3.1 (the ip address of your Steelhead Device)
Port : 7800
and the reset at default
Then, my computer and client had to be restarted.
At that point, I got my Healthy, and Connected : Licensed indications.
Without the Connected : Licensed indication no optimization will occur.
Hope this helps.

The log file will yield more information. I'd recommend opening a support case for this issue and send in a system dump from the client.

Hello,
We have a client that is connected to the SMC but the status is critical and not optimizing.
It is also showing connected Unlicensed. Version of client is 3.0.2b
There are 2 other client connected to the SMC that is showing healthy.
Has anyone encountered this one and what was the fix?
Thanks
Eliseo
