During my companies early Riverbed Steelhead R&D phase I was involved in the trials which eventually led to 95% penetration of the Steelhead appliances into our branch offices.
During the trials, which were probably performed on RIOS v2/3 I seem to remember there was a service that would monitor a CIF's share for new files and push them into the branch office Steelhead cache without further intervention?
I am aware that cache warming using the RSD is avaialble, but this adds an overhead and layer of complexity we are not ready to incur, did the 'monitoring' service exist and if so is it still supported on RIOS v5/6?
Regards
PS The requirement is to enable us to pre-warm the branch cache for particulary large MSI packages that are pushed out by SMS to locations that do not have a distribution point.
