URL Learning & OPT (Object Prefetch Table) are two pertinent optimizations that should help improve response time performance for SharePoint.
While OPT is new in 6.0, URL learning was introduced in RiOS versions previous to 6.0. Attached is a white paper that covers the HTTP optimizations prior to 6.0. This will soon be updated to also include the 6.0 OPT feature.
