Does anyone know if RB can optimize SAS more than about 20%? If so, how?
We simulated a 500ms link, with 4MB circuit, 90% utilized, RB's in-path and the program was unuable in that situation. Granted that's a bad link - but it simulates an important link we have right now. A Microsft Access program run through the same simulation performed at nearly LAN speed (which was amazing to us). The RB's provided about a 20% increase in performance compared to no RB's in-path.
A side note; SAS runs faster when there is more available bandwidth. A simulation with a 34 MB circuit 40% utilized, saw I think a 10-20% increase in performance.
We have another program calls SIMS that performs nearly identical to SAS. Are there some gereral guidlines to configuring the RB's to fully optimize programs like this?
