SAPgui optimization

Anybody have any luck getting rid of the SAPGUI pop up when data compression is switched off?

SAPgui optimization

Thanks a lot Bob and rock star SEs smile.gif

This document is really complete, with all the information we need to go on.
We gonna check and disable the SAP compression (is probably on) on the next week.

I'll post the results here as soon as we have it.

SAPgui optimization

Hi rncury,

Data reduction % looks pretty low. The obvious thing to check is whether or not SAP compression is turned off. One of our rock star SEs put together the attached document that might help.

Keep in mind that while you may be able to better your data reduction % the actual response time might not be improved. There are a number of factors that determine this. The important thing is that unless the bottleneck is bandwidth or constraints at the TCP level, Riverbed does not have latency optimizations for SAP fat client environments so speed up is minimal to none if the application itself is bottlenecking.

Cheers,

Bob

SAPgui optimization

[ Edited ]
Hello,

We're dealing with a pretty low SAP traffic reduction (<3%) in an evaluation.
Using the SAP GUI for Windows (3200/tcp, 3201/tcp), their users can't notice big improvements at all, mainly when most of them are transfering data across the WAN (512Kbps, ~50ms) at the same time.

Doing the RTFM exercise, I didn't find anything specific. Only regarding SAP Netweaver which is web-based.

Does anyone know if something can be done to improve this?

PS - Attached, you can find the traffic summary.
