ProEngineer/Intralink

[ Edited ]
Attached is Riverbed's performance brief covering Pro/Engineer. The test summary is:

- Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire operations over the WAN are 17 times faster
- Bandwidth utilization is reduced by up to 98%

Does anyone have any Pro/Engineer performance results or any feedback to share?

We are embarking on doing the same thing.

What rules did you create? Anything special by way of rules for ports, IP based matches or have you just accelerated everything from the site?

Everything, since they also run through the New York site for email, web-based apps, etc. All of the servers are in NY, so it was just easier to let everything through.

We have users in Hawaii accessing an Intralink database in New York, and with the Steelhead in place, we saw roughly a 4 to 8 times improvement, depending on the size of the data. 30 minute retrievals went down to 5. 15 minute retrievals went down to 2. What used to be unmanageable and unusable speed, became very usable, and only about 4 times slower than being in the same LAN.
