Steelhead appliances do not change the file sharing semantics so not finding a file on a share as a result of having Steelhead appliances in place doesn't make sense.  Have you tried disabling the Steelhead or maybe creating a bypass rule for the Revit traffic to see if your use case works?

On a similar note, how does the Steelhead acceleration perform within your Revit environment?  I have hear varying resuls, some good, some average, and some below average.

We are trying to share a revit central file with another architectural firm using riverbed.  I have mapped a drive (g:) to their ip address.  I open Revit, create some walls, enable worksharing, and then save a central file to their server.  It seems to save successfully.  I then try to create a local copy and save to central.  It cannot find the file.  Has anyone encountered this?  I think it may be a problem with the mapped name and the unc path.
