TheTCP connection will need to be dropped or re started for the rule to take effect. a service restart should do this if you have connection resets selected within the general services, this is off by default.
You can however reset the individual connections using the magnifing glass on the current connections page.
note : any pre excisting optimized connections will continue to optimize until they naturally close.

Hello
I have two Riverbeds connected in-path and I am trying to use the in-path rules to pass-through certain traffic. I have a laptop on each end and am doing a file transfer from one to the other. As expected, with no in-path rules defined the transfer is optimized after the first one, however even after adding an in-path rule to pass-through traffic destined from the source subnet to the destination laptop the transfer is still being optimized. I saved the changes and restarted services on both Steelheads but still no luck. Any ideas why this might be?
Thanks
Amy
N.B. I also added an in-path rule to pass-through ALL traffic for testing (0.0.0.0/0 for source and destination, all ports) but the Steelheads still optimized the file transfer.
