I have had no first hand experience but http://www.emc.com/collateral/software/data-sheet/h3138-security-ds.pdf leads me to believe the payload is encrypted by default using SSL. That would also account for statistics you see.

Has anyone have any success optimizing EMC's Documentum Content Management System?  The application is listed on the "Riverbed Supported Applications" but we have had no success having it properly optimized. 

We even had our customer disable compression within the application but he's still seeing LAN/WAN connection size still showed as being  inverted.
