I don't *think* there are images supplied on an appliance in .img format by default. These aren't like Cisco boxes where the image is decompressed into memory, our appliances extract the image to disk and run that extracted disk partition like a normal OS installed from CD.
There is nothing to stop you installing a guest OS within our RSP platform (Vmware) to use as a client and server for testing.

Hi Chris
Thanks for the reply.
I have a couple of SH in a lab environment, and I was looking at doing some ftp testing, hence looking for a way to upload the image to an ftpserver. The original image is not available (I think the SHs are running what they were delivered with, 5.5.6), hence looking for a way to upload (out of curiosity more than anything.)
Regards
Shaun

So you uploaded a .img to your Steelhead and used that to upgrade it. You now wish to retrieve that same .img file to place on an FTP server?
I assume you no longer have the original .img file you used to perform the upload?
You can also obtain .img files from our support site.

Hello
I was looking at copying the RiOS image from a SH to an FTP server (no CMC available), but cannot find a command to do this (even though there is one to download to the SH.) Is this possible, or am I missing the blindedly obvious? :)
Thanks in advance.
Regards
Shaun
