Re: CIFS write performance

Hi, Chris.

Is it possible to change this threshold (2048 MB free)?

Thank you!

Re: CIFS write performance

This is going to apply however you have the quota setup. The Steelhead will "see" the free disk space as it is reported to the client and will act upon that.

Re: CIFS write performance

Hi, Chris.

It applies only if this verification is done by user/group disk quota. Does SH do this (by each user or group)?

Thanks!

Re: CIFS write performance

What that means is the Steelhead detected that the server x.x.x.x:445 and the share "SHARE" had less than 2GB free disk space. To prevent possible corruption of data, write caching was disabled on the Steelhead CIFS optimization blade.

To resolve this, simply free up disk space on the [physical file server share and for new CIFS connections, write caching will re-enable itself automatically.

CIFS write performance

Hi,

we are experiencing poor performance on write operations with CIFS. After doing some research, I found some entries:

Jun 29 09:51:31 hostname sport[28984]: [smbcfe.NOTICE] 73083 {x.x.x.x:1278 x.x.x.x:445} Disk usage reached threshold (2048 MB free) on share \SERVER\SHARE, disabling write/setfile pre-acking

How do I free up some data space (without erasing whole cache) to enable write/setfile pre-acking again?

Thanks!
