So one might get to wondering if the Riverbeds work at all sometimes… Take this example… Riverbed and AppAssure. (in case you don’t know AppAssure go here http://www.appassure.com) “Backup and disaster recovery software for Windows application servers”.. Ok so now you get the idea right – lots of data and lots of it to replicate into a DR location.
Well from this screen Riverbed appears not to keep up…
Can’t blame or get down on RB too much - - this is where I tell you all that all the data that is replicating – has been already de-duped and compressed prior to even getting to the Steelheads… Ahhh OK... so the SH’s are doing what they can with the data… still…
Wait a minute let’s look at the server communication between the DR AppAssureCORE and the servers…
Now that is more like it!!!!!
And if you are in the mood one day to install Revit Architecture 2012, Office 2007 Pro, and a bunch of other apps across an IPSec VPN (over the Internet) between a 1050M and a 200... this is what your CIFS transfer will look like after it....
