Re: Server 2008 x64 failed to power on

Hi,

This is a known issue (VMware Server 2 does not support that guest OS string).  If this is just a single deployment of this package then open a support case and we can manually edit the .vmx file from the shell to correct the issue.

Server 2008 x64 failed to power on

Hi everyone, please see the following error message after packaging up a vm and installing into slot 1 in RSP. I try to enable the slot and I get this:

Enabling slot "1". However, the VM failed to power on (Guest operating system `windows7srv-64' is not supported. Please select a guest operating system from the General page on the Options tab of Virtual Machine Settings.)

Now it is just Server 2008 x64, which on page 10 of the rsp user guide says is compatible with our 2050L and our rsp version 6.5.0

I’ve been googling the hell out of this, and no luck. Do you have any ideas or maybe know of a good forum site that I can look for answers in?
