I concur. We use Vyatta virtual routers in our UK test labs and they work perfectly. Really reliable as well.
I should add that this opinion is my own and not representative of Riverbed as a whole.

Hi
we had this issue / request a couple of times from our resellers in the past and people tend to use RSP to get rid of more and more stand alone boxes (Active Directory, Firewall, IDS, Squid, etc).
If you're interrested in a fully blown routing solution, take a look into Vyatta (www.vyatta.org or www.vyatta.com). Apart from the free Core Edition, the also sell a specialized RSP package (customized kernel for performance and pre-build) with support.
What you get?
- Routing (RIP, OSPF, BGP, etc)
- IPv6 Support
- VPN Concentrator / Client (IPSec, PPTP, OpenVPN)
- WAN Laod Balancing (though you need to have this running outside of the rsp as an appliance then)
- DNS Proxy, DHCP, NTP, etc
- IDP/IPS
- URL Filtering
- Proxy
- etc
... all with a very nice and convenient CLI and full access to the underlying OS just in case you need to do something special.
all the stuff you'd normally use a Cisco 800 or so for.
When you buy your Steelhead with RSP right away there is a good chance, that it comes qith a vyatta pre-sinatlled, just like the SMC-VE.
Have fun playing around, I personyll love it :-)
