Sorry for the late reply.  I am able to open and edit /etc/squid/squid.conf with no issues.  Are you logged in as root?

I am trying to configure squid to not cache certain websites.  I go into the etc directory and try to edit the squid.conf file, but I an not able to open the squid.conf file to edit the configuration.  When I issue the "vim squid.conf" command it opens up an new file and not the one that is in the directory.

Has anyone else had this issue and now can I work around it?
