Re: Passed RCSA-W

Hi Malcolm,

Welcome to the forum! I don't think you've given anything away there about the exam. Good to hear it went well for you! The RCSP study guide is indeed a very useful resource.

Glad to have you on board here and look forward to hearing more from you :)

Passed RCSA-W

Hi,

Long time lurker / user of the support portal, first time poster in the forums.

Passed the RCSA-W exam today and pretty happy about it.  Found the exam quite difficult in the respect you definitely need to know what you're doing with Steelheads and there is some interceptor stuff in there that it may be a bit more difficult for folks to get their hands on.

My background is about 18 months experience deploying Steelhead, CMC, SMC for different customers, mainly with inpath and fixed target OOP deployments.  Also been on the Steelhead / SMC Fast Track 5 day course which helped lots.  The key things I felt helped my understanding was interception / probes etc.

Also the difference between Data/Application|Transport Streamlining and how they operate.

There is obviously more to it than this but I felt those areas gave me a good grounding to continue study.

Used the RCSP study guide which is free from Riverbed certifications page, some course notes I documented whilst on the course in October and hands on experience.  Have de3ployed around 50 Steelhead appliances including 550, 1050, 2050 & 6050, along with 1 x CMC and 2 x SMC,

Hopefully this info will help some others without disclosing anything from the exam.

I will probably aim to do RSCP if we win more contracts and I get the required experience in different deployment scenarios and with the Interceptor.

Cheers

Malcolm
