How the contest works

The Performance Hall of Fame Contest (slightly updated)

We're looking for strong data back-up and replication results

The Riverbed Performance Hall of Fame (PHOF) contest continues, with a slightly new focus: backup and replication. The contest is an opportunity for members of the Riverbed community to show how well their Steelheads perform and qualify for a monthly prize – this time it’s a multi-tool. This version of the contest will run through the end of May, 2011.  (We're putting together something all-new to take over in June...)

The current PHOF contest is focused on data back-up and replication. We’re still interested in your bandwidth reduction results, but we’re hoping to see what your Steelheads are doing specifically in the areas of data back-up and replication. Here’s a great example of what we’re looking for.

How to enter the PHOF contest

1.  Submit a screenshot representing your Steelhead appliance or Steelhead Mobile performance for at least a 7-day period, along with a short description of your data reduction results. Giving your screenshot a descriptive title such as “97%+ reduction from NZ to AU on 512Kbit CIR” will be helpful.

2.  Submit your entry by clicking on New Message on the Performance Hall of Fame home page. Type in a your title and provide a short description of how Riverbed is helping with your back-up or replication and also tell us which back-up application we are helping you optimize. Any other interesting info you would like to add is also welcome. To send your screenshot, click on "Add Attachments" and select the image you have captured.

That’s it. Each entry will receive a multi-tool. And once a month we'll award a Flip HD Video Camera to the entry with the most votes or kudos.  Even if you don’t win, you’ll find the PHOF contest great for seeing how others around the world use their Steelhead appliances.

For those of you who like fine print, the complete contest rules can be found at here.
