Re: CDP support on the Interceptor

FYI if anyone else is interested.  3.0.0a has a partial fix in that the CLI now allows the "in-path cdp enable" command to complete without PBR/WCCP being enabled.

Re: CDP support on the Interceptor

The Steelheads do not require OOP to be enabled.  The OOP requirement is only in the Interceptors.  It is also useful in a normal inpath environment to ensure you have the correct inpath interfaces connected to the correct devices.

What impact will it have on the Interceptors if we enable OOP and CDP, but don't use WCCP/PBR?  I would much rather see Riverbed correct the CDP implementation in the Interceptor to not require OOP (as it is in the Steelheads).

CDP support on the Interceptor

Hello,

The reason an OOP environment is needed before CDP can be enabled is because from an Interceptor/Steelhead point of view it is a feature only used in a WCCP environment.

CDP support on the Interceptor

Why would the Interceptor add the requirement for OOP to be enabled before allowing CDP to be enabled?  I have been waiting to two years for CDP to be supported on the Interceptor and now I have to turn on OOP, which turns on WCCP/PBR.  What side effects would turning on OOP cause if I have the Interceptors installed inpath?
