Re: WCCP setup and in-path rules

Just to make sure I get it right ...

First SYN - initiating SYN with TCP options (TCP-probe-pkt) is not equal to original SYN from client?

Thank you.

Re: WCCP setup and in-path rules

You are correct. In-path rules have no effect on the server-side Steelhead. The would only affect connections initiated from hosts in the datacenter for remote hosts.

WCCP setup and in-path rules

hi there,

in-path rules at DC side... with a WCCP setup ... do they have any effect for the sessions initiated at branch side?

based on my understanding ... the first initiating SYN pkt of the connection will be redirected by the WCCP and it will hit the WAN interface of the DC SH ...

but then again ... in the deployment guide there is a statement - "in-path rules are only applicable to the client-side SH appliance"

any input on this?

thank you.
