Re: Data Store not filling up.

My apologies for the delay over the holidays. After my post I let it run a few weeks and it indeed started to increase. Not by much, but I ran the numbers and it seems the Riverbed was just too good at it's job that there were hardly any Misses and it will be taking a while for the Datastore to fill up.

Thanks again for the assist.

Re: Data Store not filling up.

Yes, generally you would expect to see a datastore gradually increase to 100% over time. If yours isn't increasing, I would suggest some sysdump analysis is required. We would like INFO level logging for a case like this, so please run with INFO logging on one or both of your smaller remote sites, observe no increase in the datastore usage and then generate a system dump. Please open a support case and our TAC team will perform this analysis.

Data Store not filling up.

I'm fairly new to the Riverbed world and our company just recently installed Steelheads both at our main and our remote sites (1050M's). The issue I'm having is with the Data Store. A few of my remote sites have filled the data store up to 100% but there are 2 that refuse to increase the Data Store Usage %. One is stuck at 6.8% and the other at 10.9%. Granted these sites are smaller than our others, only about 1000 users each, but I'm worried that I'm not seeing any increase in the past few weeks.

Under the data store hit rate report (showing for 1 week) I have the following:

Total Hits: 8418MB

Total Misses: 2715MB

So my question is, shouldn't every bit of that 2715MB that miss be added to the data store in "chunks"? If so, the data store usage percent should have gone up in the past 2 weeks, which it hasn't. Can anyone shine some light on what I'm missing here?

Thanks
