The two forums have grown from different groups and different purposes.
https://supportforum.riverbed.com/ is only available for customers and partners and is intended for Riverbed-specific issues. The Support and Partner teams monitor activity.
http://community.riverbed.com/rvrb/ is a public forum that was started to provide a discussion area for WAN technology and the Riverbed marketing team monitors posts.
As the forums developed, the distinctions have lessened and we are working to merge the two, and just provide customers and partners with extra levels of access.
We'll be sure to keep forum users informed as more details are available.
