It's taken more than a year since the original question, but we are currently in the process of merging the two discussion boards.  They will be merging here into the community.riverbed.com site over the next few weeks.

Hi Juergen,

Community.riverbed.com is currently open to anyone, while supportforum.riverbed.com requires a Riverbed support login.

The support forum is focused on technical issues tied to an open support ticket.  You also have access to documentation, RiOS software updates, etc.

community.riverbed.com is about technical discussions, best practices sharing, and performance results discussions.  We are investigating the merging of these two discussion forums in the future.
