Re: change syslog facility

Currently, you could use per process logging which uses local2. Would that be of any use?

change syslog facility

I would like the ability to manually configure the logging facility the steelheads use for syslog.

Currently, the steelheads are hardcoded to use local0 for all logging and local1 for user activity.

We use local0 and local1 for other types of network hardware and are unable to currently use the manually hardcoded setting.

The ability to change the logging facility is available on all other network equipment that we use and since the steelheads run on top of a linux platform, one would think this would be a very simple and easy change to implement!

thanks for your consideration
