The feature is Appliance Backups from 5.5.0 onwards.

Configure a Maintenance Window:

Configure › Maintenance › Maintenance Window

And appliance backups are taken automatically.

Manage › Appliance Backup/Restore

My experience is you spend several days going through the backups for each appliance to manually delete all but a few.  I have been asking for some sort of management of appliance backups since they came out with the feature.  It is a nice feature, but totally unusuable in large networks in its current state.

Our current CMC 6.5 backs up our appliances nightly at 1am. However, where is this configured? and what happens if the datastore on the CMC fills up?
