Re: Which is better to collect - Steelhead cascade flow or router netflow at branch office?

You should always capture cascadeflow from the Steelhead as this will give you network delay for optimised connections and LAN and WAN side statistics for the flows. It may also be desirable to collect netflow from the router. For example there may be other devices connected to the router that the Steelhead won't see traffic for, or perhaps you just want a more accurate view of bandwidth over the WAN interface of the router. Remember that having both CascadeFlow and Netflow won't cost you any extra in flow licensing as they are de-duplicated, it only costs a little extra in flow overhead on the link and cpu on the router.

Which is better to collect - Steelhead cascade flow or router netflow at branch office?

I want to know what is the preferred flow to capture at a remote location.

Is it better to capture the Steelhead cascade flow or the router netflow?
