Hi Felix,
Appliances appear in the 'Connected Appliances' list when the first optimized connection is formed. With automatic peering, you'll see appliances at the furthest edges showing peer appliances.
Automatic peering is a good thing as it saves you the burden of creating manual peering rules. Without either of these things, SH1 will peer with SH2 and SH3 will peer with SH4 which is suboptimal.

Hi,
we are running a Serial Cascade Deployment with 4 Steelheads between the clients and servers. Automatic peering with default peering rules is activated. I thought that "Connected Appliances" on every box would show all the other boxes. Am I wrong? Are they connected just if there is traffic between two boxes? Is "Connected Appliances" related to peering? Or should I switch off automatic peering?
TIA,
Felix
