It seems that other vendors in this space are now able to report on modified/flexible Netflow/IPFIX templates which can be exported from the likes of Cisco IOSv15, Nprobe and SonicWall.
These modified Netflow version 9 or IPFIX records can incude a whole host of additional metrics from the standard Netflow tuple/record.
Some examples of the many parameters available are
MAC, Jitter, TOS, RTT, Application info, countries, utilization.
Can Cascade report and accommodate on these modified flow records that are arising from established vendors?
As a note Steelheads can export Cascadeflow which is effectively a modified v9 record that includes RTT information so it’s clear that Riverbed have acknowledged the evolution of flow techniques.
